Not at all! You don’t need to be a master builder. What matters most is that you’re enthusiastic, great with children, and happy to support them as they create. We’ll show you how to run the sessions — and you might find yourself getting more creative as you go!
Mostly children aged 5 to 11 at after-school clubs and birthday parties. Sometimes we run sessions for younger children (with DUPLO®) or mixed-age groups at events — but we always make sure you’re comfortable before assigning anything new.
Yes — most of our sessions are run by one trusted facilitator. But you’ll be fully trained, well prepared, and supported by the Brilliant Bricks team. For larger events or parties, we may send you with another leader or assistant.
Yes. You’ll need to be able to transport a box of bricks and materials to and from venues — and be reliable about getting to schools on time. Mileage is paid.
Most of our sessions are within 20–30 minutes of Haslemere, ideal for a freelance club and party leader looking for flexible, local work. We’ll never send you further than you’re happy to go.
If you already have them, great — if not, we’ll sort them for you as part of the onboarding process. These are essential before you begin running sessions.
- After-school clubs: £18 per hour (typically 2 hours per club including set-up, delivery, and clean-down at home)
- Birthday parties: £45 for a 90-minute party (plus mileage)
There’s scope for more hours during holidays and weekends if you’re available.
If you’re running a regular after-school club, yes — you’ll be given your own resource pack of bricks and materials to store at home and bring to each session. It’s all packed in a sturdy, manageable box and we’ll show you exactly how to reset and look after it between clubs.
If you’re only doing occasional weekend or holiday work, we’ll deliver the bricks to you in advance, so there’s no need to store anything long-term unless you want to take on more sessions.
Very! You’ll be part of a pool of freelancers and we’ll offer sessions based on your availability. You can say yes or no depending on your schedule. It’s ideal if you want to work term-time only or around other commitments.
